January 3

Here are those Y2K bugs that no one else found. On January 1, Harry Pavulaan and his daughter Sandra spotted an Anglewing on the Maryland side of Great Falls. The next day, they spotted an Orange Sulphur at Herndon Elementary School. Also on Sunday, Eric Raun spotted a Clouded Sulfur in Kensington, Md., and Denise Gibbs spotted one at Black Hill Regional Park in western Montgomery County. Patty Craig of Dameron, Maryland, spotted a Clouded or Orange Sulphur in California, Maryland, on Sunday and a Cloudless Sulphur in her yard on January 3. Her big news, though, was a sighting Sunday of an American Snout !!! at Myrtle Point Park.
